Frequently Asked Questions
Hello everyone, thank you for your support and for all of the great questions you have shared. This project is a dream of mine, and I am dedicated to bringing new life to this historic building and creating a space our community can be proud of. I want to be as transparent as possible about the process, so I have compiled a list of answers to some of your most common questions.

Q: What is the overall financial strategy for The Wardensville Confluence?
A: My financial strategy is multi-pronged. I am personally invested in this project and am pursuing a business loan for the majority of the funding. The PCB Loan Committee will meet next week to review my business plan and application to decide if I can move forward with the SBA program, which is the path I am pursuing for the majority of the funding.
Q: Why are you asking for contributions from the community through a crowdfunding campaign?
A: My crowdfunding campaign is not intended to fund the purchase of the building itself. Instead, I'm asking for help to cover the initial, out-of-pocket costs of getting this project off the ground—things like legal fees, business filings, and administrative costs. This community support is a powerful way for us to all get behind this project together.
Q: If there is no financial return, what is the benefit of contributing to the campaign?
A: There is no traditional financial return on a contribution. However, the true return on this investment is the creation of a vibrant community destination and a gathering space for us all. I also plan to offer distinct recognition to each contributor, which will be on permanent display in The Wardensville Confluence as a lasting sign of my appreciation. Upon receipt of a contribution, each person will also receive a personal email from me detailing this recognition.
Q: What is the refund policy if the project does not move forward?
A: In the event that this project does not move forward with the purchase of this historic building, all contributions will be fully refunded to their original donors. The GoFundMe platform has a clear process for this—if a campaign does not meet its goals or the project is canceled, the platform facilitates the refunding of all contributions. I am fully committed to this transparency and accountability.
Q: What is the project's timeline?
A: I am currently in the purchasing stage for the historic building, and the PCB Loan Committee will meet next week to review my business plan. While many variables can affect the timeline, I am targeting a spring 2026 opening. I will share updates on my progress and key milestones with the community as they become available.
Q: What businesses will be housed inside The Wardensville Confluence?
A: The Wardensville Confluence will be home to several businesses under the parent company, Two Rivers Junction LLC. My goal is to create a dynamic destination that serves the community's needs. The building will feature BBQ Country, a restaurant with a 42-year family history, The Ville on Main, which will serve as a venue for live music, karaoke, trivia, and other small-scale entertainment, and The Star Mercantile Inn, a historic inn for lodging. I plan to preserve the historic character of the building while creating a modern, welcoming space.
Q: Will you be hiring from the local community and partnering with other local businesses?
A: Yes, absolutely. My goal is for The Wardensville Confluence to be a vibrant part of the local economy. When I begin the hiring process, I will be prioritizing local talent. I also plan to partner with local vendors and businesses whenever possible to help support and grow our community together.
